Mitch obtained his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Tennessee and before that served as a US Navy Corpman/Pharmacy Technician. Mitch has been in the mental health field since graduating from college in addiction, behavioral health and dual diagnoses, treating children, adolescents, adults and seniors in a variety of settings from PHP through inpatient crisis units. Behavioral health has always been one of his greatest passions.
Working with adolescents is especially important to him because of his own recovery and having a son in recovery. The challenges facing families and adolescents hit close to home, and the recovery process is amazing to watch as it unfolds.
Mitch has found that working in an environment that focuses on developmental trauma and stresses a non-shaming and nurturing approach has been most successful with adolescents and his own family.
